Before disassembling the plum-blossom coupling, make some marks on the positions where the various parts of the coupling cooperate with each other for reference when reassembling. Couplings used for high-speed machines, the connecting bolts are weighed and clearly marked, which cannot be mistaken.
Cleaning, cleaning and quality evaluation of all parts of the plum coupling is an extremely important work after the coupling is disassembled. The evaluation of parts means that after each part is in operation, the existing conditions of its size, shape and material properties are compared with the quality standards determined by the design of the parts to determine which parts can continue to be used and which parts should be used. During the torx coupling removal process, the difficult job is to remove the hub from the shaft. For keyed hubs, generally use a three-legged puller or a four-legged puller for disassembly. The selected puller should match the external dimensions of the wheel hub, and the right-angle hooks of each foot of the puller should be properly combined with the rear side of the wheel hub, so that no slippage occurs when force is applied. This method is only used for the disassembly of the hub with a relatively small interference. For the hub with a relatively large interference, the heating method is often used, or it is disassembled with a hydraulic jack at the same time.
The type of plum coupling should be determined according to the requirements of use and working conditions. The following points can be considered when choosing:
(1) The magnitude and nature of the torque to be transmitted and the requirements for buffering and vibration reduction.
(2) The working speed of the coupling and the centrifugal force caused by it. For the high-speed transmission shaft, the coupling with high balance should be selected.
(3) The size and direction of the relative displacement of the two shafts. After installation and adjustment, it is difficult to maintain the strict alignment of the two shafts, or when the two shafts generate a large additional relative displacement during the working process, a flexible coupling should be selected.
(4) The reliability and working environment of the coupling are usually made of metal components. Couplings that do not require lubrication are more reliable. Couplings that require lubrication are easily affected by the degree of lubrication and may pollute the environment.
(5) For the manufacture, installation, maintenance and cost of the coupling, on the premise of meeting the performance, a coupling with convenient assembly and disassembly, simple maintenance and low cost should be selected.
